  • Dr Radhika Lakshmanan is a general surgeon and breast specialist who has over 18 years of clinical experience in providing care and management for patients for a wide spectrum of breast conditions. Currently practising at Gleneagles Hospital Singapore, her principal area of interest is in breast cancer treatment, specifically aimed at improving the aesthetic outcome by using a combination of advanced oncologic and plastic surgery techniques (oncoplastic breast surgery).
  • Dr Radhika is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She was appointed as an Honorary Clinical Fellow and pursued her sub-specialty interest in oncoplastic breast surgery and breast cancer management in Nottingham Breast Institute, United Kingdom.
  • Dr Radhika has published several peer-reviewed articles and chapters on cancer-related topics. She is frequently invited to present at regional and international conferences. She was the clinical lead in surgery for Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU/Imperial College of London in 2012.
  • As a breast specialist and surgeon, Dr Radhika is also a keen supporter of improving breast cancer awareness in Singapore and in the region. She is a member of the Asian Breast Diseases Association and also part of the Indian Support group of the Singapore Breast Cancer Foundation.
  • Conditions she treats include advanced breast cancer, breast pain, lactational breast problems including mastitis and breast abscess, metastatic breast cancer and nipple discharge. She also performs breast conservation techniques using oncoplastic approach, breast reduction for medical reasons, breast screening including BRCA 1 & 2 tests, excision of simple lumps and bumps on the body, management of abnormal breast imaging and/or biopsy results, minimally invasive mammotomy for breast lesions, nipple reconstruction, prophylactic mastectomy and reconstruction for BRCA 1&2 mutation carriers, sentinel lymph node biopsy and/or axillary lymph node clearance for breast cancer, surgery for accessory breasts, surgical excision of large breast lumps using oncoplastic techniques, surgery for removal of non-palpable breast lesions with hook-wires or radioisotope occult localisation techniques, surgical treatment of breast cancer including mastectomy and reconstruction and surgical treatment for gynaecomastia/male breast disorders.
