  • Dr Ooi was the chairman of the Chapter of Gastroenterologists at the Academy of Medicine of Singapore from 2011 – 2015. He also served as a clinical associate professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. Currently, he is an adjunct associate professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School.
  • Dr Ooi's research interests include inflammatory bowel disease (ie. ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), malabsorption and disorders related to the helicobacter pylori bacteria. He has published in various journals, such as the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Pathology, Annals of Academic Medicine (Singapore), Singapore Medical Journal, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Gastroenterology, Current Opinion in Gastroenterology and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology and Physics.
